Dr. Martin Brown

“I didn’t experience a miracle, but I’ve seen them in my office!

When I announced my interest in pursuing a career in the chiropractic profession my family strongly encouraged me. My parents had benefited from chiropractic care and they were eager to see me become a Chiropractic Physician, helping people’s health without any drugs, injections or surgery!

A Chiropractic Education

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in 1981 after four years of undergraduate study at Michigan State University. I then investigated many chiropractic schools and I found that the college in Toronto was a top-rated institution and only a four-hour drive away from the Detroit area. I was honored to be accepted at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College and I enjoyed my four years of study there, graduating in 1985 with my doctorate. That very same year I established my practice in Sterling Heights. I have been a life-long metro-Detroiter and I returned home permanently.

Many of the courses I had were identical to those of the university medical school. In fact several of my professors taught both the medical and the chiropractic students. The professional program was challenging but very worthwhile. After graduating, I easily passed both the American and Canadian national Board examinations. I have since passed licensure examinations in Michigan, Illinois, New York, Florida, and Ontario, Canada.

Community and Professional Involvement

I am very involved in the community. I am the President of the Macomb County Chiropractic Association and I sponsor continuing education courses for my colleagues annually. I also serve as the Vice President of the Sterling Heights Community Foundation and I have been a Board member since that organization’s inception over 20 years ago. I am a 25 year member of the Rotary Club of Sterling Heights and I have served as it’s President for three terms. I am an active associate member of the Sterling Heights Fraternal Order of Police and I serve as the Secretary of that organization. I am a member of the Sterling Heights Chamber of Commerce, the Friends of the Library, and the Detroit Zoo, among other notable local organizations.

I attend numerous continuing educational courses every year. I enjoy travel and I have twice served as a Team Chiropractor at the Deaf Olympics in Europe, volunteering for a month at a time. I love reading and relaxing with family and friends when not immersed in practice or communal affairs. I am proud to have twice been named ‘Chiropractor of the Year’ by my professional organization.

On a Personal Note…

I regularly receive chiropractic care from my friend and colleague, Dr. Marsh Kroener. I personally benefit from the same care that I recommend to my patients. We also have two full-time massage therapists in our office and I highly recommend this care as well as a complement to chiropractic care. I avoid medications and I always utilize natural approaches to health as my first and best option.

Enough about me!
